What is Google Sites?:

Google Sites is part of the Google Apps family. The goal of Google Sites is for anyone to be able to create a team-oriented site where multiple people can collaborate and share files.

While it sounds like any other wiki, Google is concentrating on the end-user experience to create a tool anyone can use. Says Matthew Glotzbach, project management director of the enterprise group, "One of the challenges of wikis, even though working with them is easier than working with HTML, is that they're built by IT for IT, and not with the end-user experience in mind."

Why Should I Use Google Sites?:

Google Sites is great for anyone who wants to create a collaborative web site for multiple users. This could be a company intranet for sharing information, a classroom site for a teacher and students, or a fan club.
