Watch the Solar Eclipse Online

Friday August 1, 2008

You don't have to be in Canada, Greenland, Russia, Mongolia or China to watch the solar eclipse. There are a couple of places on the web you can go to get a front row seat to the solar eclipse without having to leave the comforts of your air conditioning. You can even pop yourself some popcorn.

Links to Watch the Solar Eclipse Online

  • NASA TV will begin broadcasting the solar eclipse online starting at 6 A.M. EST.
  • The Exploratorium will also be showing the solar eclipse online with a live feed from China starting at 10:00 A.M. UT with commentary starting at 10:30. (Don't worry about looking that time up on a chart -- it's 6 A.M. EST too.)

The period of total eclipse should start happening at 7:08 A.M. EST.
