Office 2.0 is an emerging trend of taking common office applications and moving them online. Combined with a personalized start page, a small office can get everything from to-do lists and calculators to spreadsheets and word processors.

Among the advantages of moving towards these web-based applications are collaboration, mobility, backups and cost. Since they are online, it is easy to collaborate on projects with other members of the team. And, because all you need is access to a web browser, you can pull up the documents from anywhere. There is also no need to worry about losing your data because your computer fries. Perhaps the best part is that most of these Office 2.0 applications are free.
