After years of neglect from parent company IAC, it was announced in early September that web-based RSS reader Bloglines was scheduled to shut down on October 1, 2010. That date was later pushed to November, 15, 2010, giving the handful of dedicated and loyal users more time to come up with an alternate method of staying on top of their RSS feeds.

RSS feeds never quite caught on among the mainstream Web users like some predicted, so the remaining reader options are limited. Most likely, there will be a mass migration over to Google Reader.
