Definition:
The term podcast comes from combining the words "iPod" and "broadcast." Podcasting originated as public broadcasts for the iPod, but it has grown into its own type of media similar to blogs. And, like blogs, podcasts are used for a variety of different reasons including news casts, audio lessons, and public safety messages.
Many RSS readers are compatible with podcasts.
