Somewhere deep beneath all those millions of cat photos and videos scattered across the Internet lies a potentially great business opportunity. Two cat-loving, tech-savvy entrepreneurs may have discovered it.
Two cat-loving, tech-savvy entrepreneurs may be on to something here. The pair launched Catmoji -- a Pinterest-like social networking site for cat owners -- just before Christmas. A couple weeks later, the site had already attracted nearly 1,600 users.
It's not totally crazy. Let's face it, the Internet is weird. The I Can Has Cheezburger Network is a multi-million dollar corporation largely based around cats. Tard the Grumpy Cat is also crazy famous, and he's selling his own merch on his website. (Well, his owners are selling it for him. Obviously.)
This can only mean one thing. People on the Internet want cats -- lots of them -- and they'll probably give you money if you build something awesome that they can use. With cats.
But can Catmoji make it in the big, bad world of social networking? It's too early to say. 1,000+ users in a couple of weeks is saying something, though. If you're interested in getting in on all the crazy cat action, you can request an invite here.
