What on earth would we do without apps? We just don't know.
Apple released a press statement on Monday announcing a major milestone. The App Store reached 40 billion app downloads (excluding re-downloads and app updates) with nearly half of them coming from last year alone. That's 20 billion app downloads in 2012.
Last December proved to be a record-breaking month for the company, which racked up a whopping two billion App Store downloads. Overall, there are now 775,000 iOS apps available and Apple developers had been able to make about $7 billion by offering their apps through the App Store.
Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
