Dropbox CEO Drew Houston announced today that the popular cloud storage service has passed the 100 million mark in registered users who are using it to save more than one billion files each and every day. Back in January of 2010, Dropbox had about four million users.
"At this scale, when you help people save 10 minutes or an hour, you're saving lifetimes of pain...And we're just getting started," said Houston (reported originally by TechCrunch). "100 million registered users is a symbol, putting us in a new category with an elite handful of companies that have ever reached that audience."
I absolutely love Dropbox. It's definitely the cloud storage service that I plan on sticking with for a long time. Between my smartphone, iPod, iPad, desktop computer and MacBook Pro, it sure helps to be able to easily save everything in one spot so it can be accessed from any device at any time.
