Skyfire Browser Outshines iPhone Browser

From Daniel Nations, About.com Guide   December 9, 2009

The iPhone made it into my best web trends of the decade list based on how it revolutionized the mobile web, but since its debut, the iPhone's web browsing capabilities have been surpassed by more sophisticated mobile browsers. And leading the pack is Skyfire, a mobile web browser for Windows Mobile and the 3rd Edition Nokia S60.

What sets Skyfire apart is its ability to reproduce rich Internet sites, including support for Adobe Flash, which is not supported by the iPhone's Safari browser. Skyfire is also lightning quick, using the same type of server-side cache utilized by Opera Mini.

With the Skyfire 1.5 release launched today, the browser will now support the latest version of Flash and Silverlight, has a new full screen mode and fully supports the VGA and wVGA resolutions popping up on the latest Windows Mobile phones.
