As Football Kicks Off, FanIQ Becomes Attractive Haven

Thursday September 4, 2008

The splintering of social networks into niche sites has its bad aspects. With each new social network that we join, we are forced to keep up with yet another profile and another friends list. Web 2.0 is slowly catching up by giving us the utilities to keep up with these sites, but we haven't quite made it to the point where we can go to a single "super" social network and control our entire social sphere -- hopefully, that is coming soon.

But niche social networks definitely have their perks. If you are into books, then a social network dedicated to books can be a great way to meet new people and find interesting new books to read. And, if you are into sports, then a sports social network can be a real blast.

FanIQ was designed with the sports fanatic in mind, and it hits a home run in many aspects. Having come a long way since my original review, it's definitely a site worth checking out for anyone that will be glued to their television tonight and poring over fantasy football rosters for the next few months.
