Do You Tweet?

Thursday April 10, 2008

I'm not sure which is more fun: updating what I am doing on Twitter and reading what everyone else is up to, or talking about it by saying things like "I twittered that I was having tea" or "I tweeted him the answer to his question."

I have to admit: It is a lot of fun talking like a Warner Bros cartoon character. Or, maybe I just have a weird sense of humor.

If I could point to one reason why I don't use Twitter as much as I would like to, it would be simply that I forget. I get so focused on what I am doing, I forget to go update my status. I mean, what am I going to do? Update it every day when I just wake up and am drinking my morning coffee? So, every day people read about how WebTrendsDan is "drinking coffee" perhaps with a "still sleepy" attached to it?

This brings me to my idea for the perfect Twitter application. Perhaps this is actually out there somewhere, though the few Twitter apps I've tried haven't had it. What I want is a Twitter application that will randomly -- once per day -- pop up on my screen and ask me what I'm doing. I think that would be awesome.

What sort of Twitter applications do you use? What's your idea of the idea Twitter app? Head over to our forums and let us know.

It does have the nudge feature that will email you if you haven’t updated within a time frame… but that doesn’t help much if you have already updated, does it? I think I would like to be able to have it email me at set intervals, like every hour or something and then I could reply to it and it would update my status….
